3 Human Capital  Human capital is fundamental to reach: Productivity Technological progress Competitiveness Well being Development

4 Sustainable Development More than economic processes – it engages social and political processes. Interaction between these processes reinforce each other in ways that worsen or facilitate achieving sustainable development. Requires a better understanding of the socio-economic dynamics underpinning these processes. An Integral Approach is needed.

5 Sometimes we forget that….. At the center of these dynamics is the human person, who originates and is served by the economic activity. They way in which people interact, helps or jeopardizes sustainable development. CIVIL SOCIETY has a key role in this process.

35 Conclusions Café con Leche is being successful in delivering short term outcomes: transmitting knowledge than later it is producing outcomes that include improving academic achievement and students’ behavior. Café con Leche is generating long term impact: the program is improving the personal dignity, the social responsibility and the civic responsibility of students. Thus, the program is generating opportunities for sustainable change in the community, which is the basis for promoting sustainable development.
