Renewable Resources- any natural resource that can be replenished naturally with the passage of time Ex. Solar energy, hydroelectric energy, wood Non-renewable Resources- a natural resource which cannot be reproduced, grown, generated, or used on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate; once depleted there will be no more available for future use. Ex. Fossil fuels, oil, natural gasses Both are used to give us power

Definition- Evaluation and comparison of capital and environmental costs of a project to estimate its relative merits and demerits. Needed for- Provides an idea for identifying, quantifying, and comparing the costs and benefits

Definition- describes the processes and activities that need to take place to characterize and monitor the quality of the environment Needed For-environmental impact assessments, as well as in many circumstances in which human activities carry a risk of harmful effects on the natural environment.

RENEWABLE RESOURCE NON- RENEWABLE RESOURCE No toxic pollution or global warming emissions, land use and habitat loss, water use, and the use of hazardous materials in manufacturing. air and water pollution, damage to public health, wildlife and habitat loss, water use, land use, and green house gases.

We use many resources. If we continue to use the non-renewable resources we will continue to pollute the atmosphere and release gases that cause global warming. We also take the land that many animal use.
