Personal Metaphor Paper Revisions 1.Open up your paper in turnitin.com. 2.Read every comment as demonstrated. 3.Open up your paper file (or download it from turnitin, if needed). 4.Address each revision and/or edit AND apply the thinking applied to other areas of your paper. 5.Highlight each revision, whether specified by me or self-selected, and add a comment to describe what you did and why. 6.When you get home, open your turnitin.com submission as a PDF and print it to bring to me. 7.Consult the rubric as you work. 2. Downloading PDF from turnitin Open your paper in turnitin. Click on the printer icon on the bottom. Choose “Download PDF of current view for printing.” Now when you open the PDF, you will see the comments are numbered and each comment is included in its entirety after the paper. You must bring Mr. Bernhart a printed copy of this PDF.

3. If you need a copy of your paper to work on from turnitin.com Only do this if you can’t access your paper another way. Choose the download option and you can download a copy of your paper from turnitin.com so you can make revisions. This will only work if it allows you to download the paper in its “original format.” If it does not give you this option, it will only let you open a PDF to which you can’t make changes so you will have to make notes of changes you want to make and then make the changes at home. download option

4. Inserting Comments in Drive Go to http://8gtaela.weebly.com/flash-fiction- revising-screencasts.html and watch the “Making Comments in Google Drive” screencast made by the great Mr. Drayton.http://8gtaela.weebly.com/flash-fiction- revising-screencasts.html If you add comments in Drive, you will have to download your paper as a Word document before you submit it to turnitin.com. If you do not, the comments will not show up in turnitin.com and you will fail. 5. Inserting Comments in Word Choose the “Review” tab on the top tool bar. Highlight the new text or changes that you made. Click “New Comment” to add a note describing the revision as per the rubric. Review tab Highlighted text New comment
