Key Findings ‘….we never had a document that we could refer to and that we could all universally agree on. So that the whole process of creating a guideline was a peace building process in itself because it brought together the mental health and psychosocial field for the first time, and then put them together and then actually over a two year process, we managed to get them to agree and then we managed to get the guidelines released as well…’ ‘….we never had a document that we could refer to and that we could all universally agree on. Recommendations Awareness: - tailored modules to address content areas -awareness generation for religious leaders, local leaders - Increase online presence Institutionnalisation: -institutionnalisation checklists -MHPSS roster – deployment of experts Utilisation: - strengthen M&E Framework - develop toolkit options for community-based PSS -focus attention on practical guidance “ part of our interview questions, when we interview people for jobs, we ask them if they are aware of them [the Guidelines], if they have used them, and if they can give an example. And if people have not heard of them, and cannot talk about them in an intelligent way, it’s a big minus.”
