Renson and Dampers
2
Natural Ventilation Dampers Dampers are used to control airflow from one space to the other. Often referred to as ventilators. Used for moving air from one space to another; normally outside to in. Normally will need a weather resistance when closed. Material can be aluminium or steel. Requirement is physical performance No real market leader
3
Façade Dampers Similar to natural ventilation dampers but they provide both a weather and thermal resistance. Primarily used in natural ventilation schemes Damper solutions have been twin insulated metal with a U value, air leakage and weathering. –Typical U values of 2w/m2K –Air tightness of between 5 and 10m3/hr/m2 at 50Pa –Louvre water tightness class A as per HEVAC at 0m/s velocity Often the casing is non thermally broken metal HVC solution is a pure uPVC assembly to replace the insulated metal blade. –Typical U values of around 1 but it needs verifying –Airtightness of around 10. However usually quoted per m of blade and is <1 –Louvre water tightness to suit louvre used
