THE POWER OF SLOPE-INTERCEPT FORM Interpret the equation y = mx + b as defining a linear function. We will be graphing linear equations simply knowing what the slope-intercept form is.
2
y = x GRAPH
3
y = 3x GRAPH
4
y = ½x GRAPH
5
y = ⅘x GRAPH
6
y = 10x GRAPH

SUMMARY Write a short summary about what you have seen so far, be as specific as possible. Possible answers, all lines are positive, the number in front of the x is the rate of change, or AOC, if the AOC is between 0 and 1, the line is flatter, while a number greater than 1 makes it steeper.
8
y = 2x + 2 GRAPH
9
y = 3x – 1 GRAPH
10
y = ⅔x + 5 GRAPH
11
y = ¾x – 7 GRAPH
12
SUMMARY Write a short summary about how the second number affects your graphs. Possible answers, it moves the graph up or down the y-axis(translated) before you consider the pattern or AOC of the equation.
