2. What is a rain forest? A rainforest is a wet place where more than half of all animals and plants live. There are animals like big cats, birds, monkeys, insects, reptiles, and spiders. There are plants like rafflesias, lianas, and bromeliads.

3. Location of Rain Forests The rainforests are in the middle of Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Rainforest are also in the continents of Africa, North America, South America, Australia, and Asia. The countries of Brazil, Hawaii, Vietnam, Madagascar, Malaysia, Liberia, Ghana, and Togo Cote’ Divoire have rainforests in them

4. The Emergent Layer The emergent layer is one of the layers of the rainforest and is the highest layer. It is the layer that gets the most sun. There are only a few animals in this layer.

7. Canopy Layer The canopy layer is 250 feet above the forest floor. It is also the layer that has the most animals. Some of the animals in the layer include bees, reptiles, monkeys, birds, sloths, and porcupines.

8. Understory Layer The understory is mostly branches from the canopy’s trees but does have some small trees too. It is the second to last layer. It is home to many animals with strong arm muscles.

10. Forest Floor The forest floor is the lowest layer in the rainforest. It is home to almost every flightless bug species in the world. The animals in that layer like the dark.

11. Insects Many insects live in the rainforest and have to adapt to the rainy weather.

12. Deforestation Many trees are being cut down in the rainforest. This is causing many rainforest animals to become endangered. There are four main reasons that the rainforest is being cut down. The four main reasons are for cattle grazing, mining, products, and space for cities.

13. People of the Rain Forest There are a lot of people of the rainforest, most of them are natives.They act like us and need to use the Earth’s resources to survive.

14. Unusual animals of the Rainforest There are many animals in the rainforest that are unexpected to live in that habitat.
