8  Lower division writing courses must be completed with a “C” or better, or a “Pass”  Must complete lower division writing requirement by the beginning of the seventh quarter following the completion of AE/ESL courses  Lower division writing courses MUST be taken at UCI Lower Division Writing Grade

11  Students may take only 12 units as P/NP option during their ENTIRE time at UCI  Academic English courses and other courses offered only as P/NP option do count as part of the 12 units Pass/Non Pass (P/NP) Policy

12  Students are eligible for 16 units of repetition for courses they wish to retake  The new grade will replace the previous GPA  However, the original grade will always remain / show up on the official transcript; it does not disappear! Course Repetition Policy

13  All courses that are required for your major MUST be taken for a letter grade! Letter Grade Policy

14  This requirement may be fulfilled if you have one year of formal schooling at the sixth grade level or higher at an institution where the language of instruction is not English  Documentation needed  Visit Peer Academic Advisor to update your degree audit General Education Category VI: Language other than English
