Why? Almost 20% of the US Municipal Solid Waste is comprised of food scraps.

Why? When landfilled, biodegradable organic materials break down and produce methane, a greenhouse gas 72 times more potent than carbon dioxide in its global warming strength.

Composting Benefits Improves moisture retention and resulting in improved crop drought tolerance; Reduces fertilizer requirements; Adds organic matter; and Reduces potential for soil erosion.
