Religious Diversity Journeys RDJ 2012
2
What is RDJ? The Religious Diversity Journeys were designed to have seventh graders travel to different locations of worship. At each location students would learn about the religion, history and culture. The journeys will focus on the differences and similarities among some of the major religions found in Metro Detroit, including: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. Students from Berkley will be joined by students from three other school districts. The purpose of this program is to give students a base of knowledge about the different religions in the community in order to dispel myths and stereotypes.
