To wrap up our Economic Unit, the 5th grade will be participating in an Economics Fair on March 17 th. They have created businesses that will manufacture products that they will sell to the rest of the school at the Economics Fair. The students will be supplied with resources (yarn) by their first investor (me) to create bracelets. The groups may also seek other investors (their families) to provide other resources. Some examples are: more yarn, rubber bands for the Loom bracelets, looms, beads, etc. They are also brainstorming ways to offer incentives, so you may get some requests for mints or bags of candy, which is okay to provide. All money raised will benefit Plano's Jump Rope for Heart. This is in honor of Ms. Gahafer's mom who has been on the heart transplant list since March 10, 2014. Please let me know if you have any questions about this event, and thank you so much for your help! This has been a very fun Read Across America Week! We dressed up every day, watch the talent show, and participated in the book character parade! Next week we will again focus on language skills instead of spelling.
