LIVING OUT WHAT JESUS THINKS
3
TRUTH
4
THINKING
5
There is a connection between thinking and habit formation
6
what you keep thinking about, you will keep doing and what you keep doing becomes a habit.
7
Your habits create your character, and your character is who you are.
8
Brian Tracy says we need to practice zero-based thinking on a regular basis.
9
“Is there anything in your life that, knowing what you now know, you would not get into again today if you had to do it over?”
10
“Then why are you still committing your time, energy and resources toward that habit?”
11
“If you want to change the fruits, you must first change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.” -T. Harv Eker
12
Proverbs 23:7 “For as someone thinks in his heart, so is he.”
13
A part of faith is in the mind.
14
TRUSTING
15
Jesus's wheelbarrow.
16
In our English language we can miss the full impact of trust because we typically think of ‘believing’ as something that goes on only in our head.
17
But Biblical FAITH involves ACTION!
18
James says, “Even the demons ‘believe’ that and shudder!” (James 2:19)
19
The rubber meets the ground when we not only assert that Jesus is the Son of God, but we are willing to TRUST Him completely with our life and surrender to His Lordship!
20
Proverbs 3:1-6 “My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you
21
will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as
22
a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good
23
reputation. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and
24
he will show you which path to take.”
25
This is why James said that “faith without works is dead” (2:17).
26
Hebrews 11
27
Jesus said that He is the Teacher (John 13:13-14).
28
But He also told His disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit to them, and that the Holy Spirit would teach them all things (John 14:26) AND guide them into all truth (John 16:13).
29
"Everyone who hears these words of mine AND puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The
30
rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its
31
foundation on the rock." (Matthew 7:24-25)
32
Following Christ is all about relying upon Him.
33
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)
