College of Education and Human Services Who are we? – A full service College of Education Teacher certification programs in 11 areas. All programs are approved by the Florida Department of Education, and the Professional Educational Unit is accredited by the National Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (NCATE). Post-bac program (Educator Preparation Institute) leading to teacher certification. Master of Education degrees with specializations in 14 areas. Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.

College of Education and Human Services Who are we? – A home for quality Human Service degree programs. Bachelor’s degrees in Deaf Studies, American Sign Language Interpreting, and Sport Management. Master’s degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. New M. Ed. emphasis in Athletic Administration.

College of Education and Human Services Who are we? – Partners in the improvement of teaching and learning in Jacksonville. Nationally-award-winning Urban Professional Development School Partnership with four Duval County schools. Focused tutoring program at an urban elementary school. Poetry Stars clubs to increase literacy skills or students in two urban schools. Counseling/mentoring program at 5 urban secondary schools.

College of Education and Human Services Making an Impact! – The College makes approximately 2,000 school-based placements per year, most of which are in Duval County Public Schools. These placements account for over 175,000 hours of school-based experiences for our students per year. – We graduate approximately 500 teachers, counselors, and school administrators each year, the majority of whom remain and work on the First Coast. – We recognize outstanding career educators through the Gladys Prior Awards for Career Teaching Excellence.
