Q. What is Medieval ? Medieval: A time period in history referring to the Middle Ages. This was a time that was old fashioned and not very “cool” at all

The Early Middle Ages These are dark times

A. This time period begins with the “fall” of the Roman Empire in the West in 476 AD

a. The Roman Empire had kept Europe together

b. Without the Roman Empire, Europe fell into chaos

c. Few people wanted to travel because of the bad roads

E. Trade decreased dramatically! (People went back to a bartering system ) Barter System: People trade one thing for another thing. (No use of dinero) “I’ll trade you this baby for some food!” “sweet”
