5 Here are instructions to create a group for your parent (or other) email addresses in GroupWise 7.0. - Open the Excel file containing your class email addresses - Highlight the email addresses that pertain to your class - Right click, Copy - Initiate a new message in GroupWise - Right click, Paste the email addresses in the To: field (all addresses will appear individually in To: with a corresponding beep as they are added) Now, there are two ways to proceed... The Long Way - Right click each of the email addresses listed in the To: field and choose Add to Frequent Contacts - Complete at least the First & Last Name for each parent - Click OK (Addresses in the To: field will go from grey to black and change to the contact's name) - Close the email window (without saving changes) and return to the main GroupWise window. - Go to File, New, Group (at the bottom) - Give the Group a name (for example 08-09 Parents) - Click Add - Choose Frequent Contacts for Look in: -Begin typing the first and last name of the parents in your class, double click the name when it appears in the Address List (the contact will appear in the To: list - When done, click OK, and OK again. Whew! You've created a group in GroupWise.

6 Why take the long way? Adding addresses as individual contacts permits you to address an individual email by typing in the first and last name- no "whimsical to the creator" addresses to remember (not that they're not fun, just hard to remember if you're not the creator)

7 The Short Way: After pasting the multiple addresses into the To: field... -Click the Address button at the top of the email window -(right below Tools & Accounts) - Click Save Group on the bottom right - Choose Frequent Contacts - Name your Group - Click OK, OK - Done! Why take the short way? Well, it's just quicker, but you have to remember each of your parents' email address when writing to a parent individually.
