2 It’s a start….  2009 President Obama and VA secretary Shinseki declared the initiative to end homelessness for veterans by 2015  Funding available for homeless outreach programs such as H- PACT and CRRCs

3 Community Resource and Referral Center  “one-stop shop” homeless service model  Easy access to resources  Welcoming environment of integrated service delivery  VA partnership with community services

4 MULTI-DISCIPLINARY and MULTI-AGENCY  Housing services  Health care – primary care, mental health, dental?  Vocational training programs  Connection to VA and non-VA benefits (disability, social security, etc.)  Laundry, showers, clothing, food  Community resources

5  17 centers opened nationally within the past 2 years Akron, OH Atlanta, GA Chicago, IL Cleveland, OH Denver, CO Des Moines, IA Detroit, MI Harlem / NYC Las Vegas, NV Minneapolis, MN New Orleans, LA Omaha, NE Philadelphia, PA Phoenix, AZ Portland, OR San Francisco, CA Washington, DC  Seattle CRRC proposed to open in 2014
