3  Starvation and poor living conditions  Extreme inflation  National Socialist German Workers Party forms 1919 (Nazis)  Poor political leadership made for poor budgeting  Too much social welfare drained the economy

4 Germany Recovery US loaned millions of dollars to German recovery efforts Huge construction projects made jobs Germany was able to earn money through taxes and state trade

5  Stock Market crashes 1929  US recalls loans given to Germany  Germany’s economy almost completely collapses  Nazis take this chance to seize power

6  Nazis take advantage of the depression promising more jobs and improved economy  Adolf Hitler becomes the chairmen in 1921  Nazis blamed Jews and other groups for their economic problems

7  Hitler becomes the Chancellor of Germany  Nazis become the only political party  First concentration camp is built: Dachau  The Nazis begin the moving Jews to concentration camps

8  The Swastika symbol use to mean stuff like good luck, strength, power or the sun  The US helped Germany recover from WWI  Nazis also targeted gypsies, political opposition( communist party, other parties), homosexuals, sick and disabled people, and Jehovah witnesses
