The straws full assembly outside chamber on the usual working place. 2. To have one end of straws free and stretch them individually. 3. To use O-rings instead of glue, in accord Institution standard STP 4335-79 or GOST 9833-73 (ISO ???) 4. The use self centering hexagonal spacer allows strictly centering the straw in aluminum bush independently from spread in values 4. The straws and anode wires placement precision are depended practically from the chamber and end plugs prsicion produce only but not assembling procedures accuracy.

The device for 2160 mm long straw individual assembly on the base of the 2000 mm long optical bench – was produced adjusted and full completed with accuracy of +/-20 microns (the collets for bushes and supports for straw).

/ All paths of assembling straw are made by accuracy of H8 (~0.010 mm) – the straw holes at the flanges, the outside bushes for ones, the self centered spacers and the insulators. That is way we was obtained for finally accuracy of straw linearity about +/- 50 microns. +/- 50 microns.

At using this technology the chamber it is possible assembled at horizontal position for example on the ATLAS round table without the complex high precision turn over tool. Hence the straws are at the spare condition and defects will be smaller.
