9. Apprentice Floor Layer Advanced Floor Coverings Bonnyrigg We are currently looking for someone to fill the role of Apprentice Floor Layer. The successful candidate will learn many aspects of the flooring industry such as; sub floor preparation (screed/plywood), luxury vinyl tiles (Amtico, Karndean), carpet, vinyl, laminate/engineered and solid wood. The majority of training will be provided 'on-site', however, the chance to attend product based training courses will be available as well as working towards an NVQ level 2 in floor coverings. Applicants must be presentable, have strong communication abilities (verbal, written and listening skills) and confidence in dealing with customers on a face to face basis. They should be physically fit, healthy and enjoy manual work with the ability to learn and perform practical skills efficiently. National 4 Maths and English or equivalent is essential. 12. ScottishPower – Engineering Foundation Student Programme Scottish Power is currently recruiting for its Engineering Foundation Student Programme. Training is primarily based at Edinburgh College, Midlothian. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to spend an academic year, starting in August 2016, working towards an electrical engineering qualification at SCQF Level 5 and also get 5 weeks of technical training delivered by ScottishPower.
