Case Study: TRUSTECH Hand held ECG device –For the opportunistic screening for atrial fibrillation in primary care. Atrial fibrillation is a risk factor for stroke and patients at risk of stroke can receive prophylactic anticoagulants. Ithaka role –Preparation of a due diligence report on the commercial potential of the device. –Desk research plus a series of interviews with stakeholders (clinicians and commissioners) in the UK and overseas. Results –TRUSTECH secured innovation funding of £517,000 through the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) ‘Stroke competition’ –Work is underway on the development and testing of the device
