1. The Solar System by Donovan W  This is our Solar System.  We have the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

2. The Sun  The sun is made of lots of hot gas.  The sun is our star and gives the Earth heat and light.

3. Mercury  Unlike other planets, Mercury has no moons.

4. Venus  Venus’s size is very compatible to Earth’s size and also is the third brightest object in Earth’s sky.

5. Earth  Earth is our planet and is the only known planet to have life.  Earth is mostly covered with water and is the largest of the inner planets.

6. Mars  Mars’ diameter is only half of Earth’s diameter.  It has large dust storms that can last for months.

7. Jupiter  Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system.  It has 63 moons and for 300 years a gigantic hurricane has raged on Jupiter.

8. Saturn  Saturn has rings that are visible from Earth.  Saturn has at least 31 moons while it’s atmosphere is made of hydrogen and helium.

9. Uranus  Uranus is a gas giant and rotates on its side.  Uranus has at least 27 moons.

10. Neptune  Neptune’s winds can reach up to 2000 kilometers per hour.  Neptune’s atmosphere is made of hydrogen and helium.  Neptune has at least 13 moons.

11. Pluto  Pluto has a rocky surface covered with nitrogen, ice, and small amounts of methane and carbon dioxide.
