4. Student ’ s Climate Research Campaign  The International Campaign of climate exploring for students at our school we started on September 12th, 2011

5.  We made special stand where we displayed European Union Life Learning programm’s Comenius subprogramm’s “Comenius Multirateral school partnership” project „Student Climate Research Campaign, a European approach to Earth observations and Phenology in the GLOBE programm” 2011-2013

6. GLOBE - PHENOLOGY Uzvara Secondary school’s programm’s participants have already done phenologycal observations since 2009th year’s autumn and gained facts they input in GLOBE’s data base – www.globe.gov www.globe.gov

7. COMENIUS – GLOBE - phenology  On September, 2011 taking part in Comenius project we chose to explore local trees growing around the school – maple (Acer), birch - tree (Betula pendula) and oak – tree (Quercus robur).

8. Our school  Maples, birch-trees and oak-trees are located in the South, in the West and in the Northwest part of our school.

9. Green – down protocols  In Latvia tree leaves are changing their colour in autumn.  We register the change of tree leaves using special GLOBE green-down protocol and plant colour guide.  All the gained facts we input in GLOBE’s data base

10. COMENIUS observations  8 students (aged from 12 to 15) are active performers of doing environment’s observation.  In autumn we observed the change of leaves colour to 5 trees growing around our school.  There are done 435 phenologycal observations in autumn, 2011.

12. Phenology - temperature  Phenologycal observations help to understand the climate’s influence on plants activities.

13. We continue to do atmosphere observations, registration of soil’s temperature’s change according to the weather conditions. The instrument shelter is on the four-storried building`s roof. We worked with 7-day digital thermometer. Clouds explorers on the school`s roof.

15. Green – up protocols  The leaves blossom out in spring.  We are using GLOBE programm’s special protocols for observing this process.

16. Green- up observations  In spring, 2012 we started to observe tree’s blossoming process.  We are observing what kind are chosen buds – sleeping, swelling or budburst.  There are done 317 phenologycal observations in spring, 2012.

18. GLOBE ’ s second meeting in Latvia On November 3rd, 2011 we four who are taking part in GLOBE project went to the meeting. It took part in Limbaži (Latvia). Participants from 7 schools in Latvia took part in this meeting.

19. GLOBE ’ s second meeting in Latvia  In this meeting we did practical works, too.  We defined brook’s and lake’s water’s PH level, temperature, their cleaness and iron’s content (substance) in it.

21. The experience’s exchange trip to Hungary  From 20/11/2011 till 25/11/2011 4 students and 2 teachers from Uzvara secondary school took part in experience’s exchange trip to Hungary.

23. COMENIUS project’s logo  All of us did “home work” before going to Hungary - we made sketches for project’s logo. Our Kristiānas Sīles and Renātes Melnes team work (1) got the highest appreciation and was brought forward in the middle of the best ones, but when voting Spain’s variants (2) were chosen as the best ones. 1 2

24. Hello Students at Uzvara Secondary School!  The GLOBE Program Office has been sorting through all of the data that has been entered into the GLOBE database as a part of the Student Climate Research Campaign (SCRC).
