There once was a friendly pirate, who spent her days alone in her trusty pirate ship ‘The Beauty.’ She chose to be alone because all the other pirates were stinky, messy and ill mannered! Captain Blade liked to be clean, tidy and polite. She especially liked sailing in bath tubs because, as we know, they are certainly a clean place to be. She sailed around searching for new jewels and protecting her very own precious treasure from other terrible pirates who were known to be wretched thieves.

One day, when navigating a new bubbly pool, Captain Blade became lost. She was lost in a bath tub. “Arrgh me hearties how did I get here?” Her pirate ship and all her worldly goods were long gone down the plug hole. Captain Blade was in trouble, she wasn’t a very good swimmer. Oh no! What was she going to do?

Luckily Terry Tentacles the Octopus was swimming around. He stretched out one of his tentacles to Captain Blade and with a “Shlurp” and a “Pop” grabbed hold of her tightly. He pulled her to the top of the bubbles and with his 7 free tentacles he stuck himself to the bath side and pulled her up to safety. “Phew!”

After she had dried herself off, and thanked Terry Tentacles, remember she is a very polite pirate, she began to feel very worried. She spotted Sharpie the Shark, who was known in the pirate circle for being a bit of a pirate ship muncher. Many a pirate had fallen foul of Sharpie and his incredible razor sharp teeth! “Help!” yelled Captain Blade.

She decided she needed a way to get back to the waters she knew and loved and began searching around for something she could sail. She found a push along trolley. Could she sail this? “I can’t sail this!” sighed Captain Blade. “The blocks will weigh me down and sink me.”

Next she found a bike. Could she sail this? “I can’t sail this!” wailed Captain Blade. “It doesn’t have a hull to float in the water.”

Then she found a push chair. Could she sail this? “I can’t sail this!” grumbled Captain Blade. “It is quite comfortable but it doesn’t have a crow’s nest to look out for danger.”

Just then she saw something twinkling in the corner of the room. It was blue and making splashing sounds “Splish, splosh, sploosh.” She looked a little closer and noticed a small orange fish swimming around. It made her feel even more homesick and sad. “How ever will I get back to the water?” She sobbed. “There, there” said the fish in a rather bubbly voice. “I am sure you will find a way.”

Captain Blade stopped crying and looked for a way to escape the house she was stranded in and get home. She peeped inside an open doorway and found a peculiar looking object. It had what looked like a big sack attached to it and was on wheels. When she looked closer she found clues about where this object might be going...

She found a fleece and badge with a key attached. They both had a logo that said Norbridge Academy. “Norbridge Academy? I wonder what Norbridge Academy is?” said Captain Blade puzzled. She looked inside the bag and found a computer with lots of pirate information on it. This made Captain Blade feel excited!

So, Captain Blade made a very brave decision. She climbed up the slightly strange looking vehicle and hid inside. She hoped it might take her to Norbridge Academy. She hoped that there might be someone there who knew a thing or two about pirates. She hoped they might be able to help her...

It was a bumpy dark ride in the strange vehicle, but while she was travelling Captain Blade wrote a message and hid it in a bottle. “Arrr I hope someone finds my note” thought Captain Blade.

The message read: Hello there me hearties, Captain Blade here! I hope this message reaches you in time; bottles have an irritating way of going off course. Anyway, I need your help ship mates... My trusty ship got munched by a shark and flushed down the plughole. My sea legs aren’t used to dry land and I have to get back to sea to stop those pesky pirates pinching my treasure. Can you help me? Give me an ARGH if you think you can! In return I’ll leave you messages and clues about what it’s like to be a real pirate...o.k? Give me an ARGH if this is o.k? Captain Blade

When all was quiet Captain Blade crept out from the vehicle, which by now she had learnt was in fact a trolley. There wasn’t a soul around. She began to explore and found lots of underwater themed areas that she liked the look of. “These ship mates must be knowing some things about the sea and pirates for sure, ARRR!” she roared.

Captain Blade was very curious about the creatures he found. “Blow me down and blimey...what be these scallywags? If they should ever board my pirate ship I’d make them walk the plank!” Captain Blade remarked.

Captain Blade scuttled off and hid back in the trolley for cover from the scurvy dogs she had encountered!

From the safety of the trolley Captain Blade wrote her next message: Ahoy matey’s, Captain Blade checking in! I have been off exploring this here place that you land dwellers call Norbridge Academy. It looks very exciting. I like the fishing area, but, shiver me timbers who are the funny looking sea creatures I have seen in there? The Hairy Crab, The Spotty Octopus, The Smiling Starfish, The Curly Mermaid, The Happy Hoola and The Pirate Princess...? I have never seen such beastly characters in all my years at sea! Have you spotted them too? Anyway, I don’t seem to be any closer to getting home. Have you had any ideas? Give me an ARGH if you have? I look forward to hearing your ideas. Captain Blade

Captain Blade realised she would be a very busy Pirate as she found the piles of questions from the curious children at Norbridge Academy. “Wow, what great questions and writing!” said Captain Blade.

Captain Blade then noticed that the children had left her some ideas and letters. She was delighted! “Yippee and thank ye shipmates, my plan to get home is working.”

So, as a thank you Captain Blade left a little surprise, a Pirate book. “One story for each day, this will help the little scallywags learn a thing about Pirates until I can write back to them all” she rejoiced.

That was when Captain Blade spotted it....the Pirate ship area.
