2 Many children of migrants have already got a German passport. That’s why the statistics of our school only mention those students, who are still citizens of their countries of origin.

7 Julia was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo – formerly called Zaire. When she was 6 years old she followed her father to Germany. She had to learn German and to get used to the new people around her.

8 Alina was born in Bremen. Her mother originally came from Kazakhstan and her father came from Kyrgyzstan.

9 Ana was born in Macedonia and migrated with her parents to Bremen at the age of 8. Her grandparents are still living in Macedonia. Ana speaks German and Macedonian.

10 Halit's mother came from Beirut (The Lebanon) to Bremen. His father's way went from Ankara (Turkey) via Leek (The Netherlands) to Bremen. The grandparents are still living in The Netherlands. Halit was born in Bremen.

11 Nseka Francine was 12 years old when she came from The Democratic Republic of Congo to Bremen. Her parents had gone to Germany 6 years before. Neska had lived with her aunt in Africa. She managed quite well to get used to the German culture and to learn the German language.

12 Darlene’s family came from the area of today’s Poland. Her parents grew up in the German Democratic Republic near the Polish border. What a coincidence! Darlene was born in Poland when her parents were there on their honeymoon. For the first 5 years of her life Darlene has lived in Pasewalk, Mecklenburg- West Pomeranian. Then she moved to Bremen.

13 Lanny was born in Lagos. He was 3 years old when he followed his parents to Germany. He has got 2 brothers and sisters who arrived in Germany later. Now the whole family is living in Bremen.

14 Furkan was born in Bremen and grew up there. His parents had come from Turkey to Bremen. Ahmed was born in Germany has been living here with his mother and two brothers and sisters since then. His parents came from The Lebanon.

15 Neşe is living with her parents and 3 brothers and sisters in Bremen. Her family moved from Suruç in Turkey.

16 Laila has got a Portuguese mother and a German father. Her parents met in Portugal on a holiday. Laila was born in Germany, but she has lived in Portugal for 2 years. There she has gone to school for 2 years. Since she was 11 years old she has been living with her parents in Bremen.

17 Manuel has been living in Bremen since his birth. His mother is German and his father comes from Guinea Bissau.

18 Feyza’s parents come from Turkey. Feyza was born in Germany. Her grandparents are still living in Turkey. Kimberly was born in Bremen. Her mother is German, her father came from England. He has been living in Germany for 26 years, but nowadays he is living in California. Her father’s relatives are still living in England.

19 Esther was born in Bremen. Her mother is German; her father was born in Lomé (Togo). Esther has got a younger sister who is visiting our school as well.

20 Sebastian was born in Bremen. His mother is German and his father comes from Nicaragua. Tim’s father is Greek and his mother is German. Tim has been growing up in Bremen.

21 Saskia’s grandfather is Italian. Ceren’s parents came from Turkey, Ankara and Kayseri.

22 Soner’s parents and grandparents came from Uşak and Ağri in Turkey. Soner was born in Bremen.

23 Andy’s parents came to Bremen after the opening of the border to the German Democratic Republic. Andy was born in Rostock, Mecklenburg-West Pomeranian.

24 André was born in Bremen. His mother came from Poland. His father had a long way from Angola via Cuba, Portugal and Spain to Germany. Here in Germany André’ parents met each other.

25 Tijen was born in Bremen. Her parents had met each other in Germany. Her mother is German, her father is Turk. Vanessa’s way went from Oschatz and Dahlen (Saxony) to Fürth in Bavaria. In 2009 she moved to Bremen with her mother. Her father comes from Mozambique.
