CHRIST—THE MODEL 1)What is He to the building—what relation (Mt. 16:18)? 2)What is He to the church (Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1:18)? 3)What is He to the walls of the building (Eph. 2:20)? 4)What is He to the superstructure (1 Cor. 3:11)? 5)What is He to keep peace (1 Tim. 2:5)? 6)What is He to the body (Eph. 5:23)? 7)What has He given to guide the church (2 Tim. 3:16, 17)? Matthew 16:18 (NKJV) 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Colossians 1:18 (NKJV) 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Ephesians 2:20 (NKJV) 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, 1 Corinthians 3:11 (NKJV) 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV) 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Ephesians 5:23 (NKJV) 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

MODEL IN ORGANIZATION 1)Each local body will have what (Acts 14:23; Tit. 1:5)? a.What will they not be? b.They will possess what positive marks? c.How will these overseers keep “tab and contact” with the members? (1 Peter 5:2) d.How will they facilitate the work by business meetings (1 Cor. 14:33, 40)? e.How will they add greater confidence by inviting constructive criticism? Acts 14:23 (NKJV) 23 So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed. 1 Peter 5:2 (NKJV) 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV) 33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:40 (NKJV) 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Acts 6:2-3 (NKJV) 2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. 3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;

MODEL IN WORK 1.What will each member of the church do (Phil. 2:12)? 2.What threefold lesson will all learn (1 Thess. 4:11)? 3.How will all be known as followers of Christ (Jno. 13:34, 35)? 4.What is to always continue among the members (Heb. 13:1)? 5.How will all feel about definite plans of work: a. About the financial work of the church (1 Cor. 16:1-3; 2 Cor. 9:7)? b. About evangelistic meetings of the church (1 Tim. 4:16)? c. About systematic Bible study (2 Tim. 2:15; Acts 17:11,12)? Philippians 2:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 1Thessalon ians 4:11 11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Heb13:1 (NKJV) 1 Let brotherly love continue 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: 2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. 1 Timothy 4:16 (NKJV) 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

MODEL IN WORSHIP 1.Where will the mind of Christians be placed (Col. 3:1-3)? 2.What is God, and how is he to be worshiped (Jno. 4:23, 24)? 3.How will each act in the public assembly (Heb. 12:28)? Colossians 3:1-3 (NKJV) 1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. John 4:23-24 (NKJV) 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
