2 Explain what gene frequency is. Measure gene frequency in a model population. Make and test predictions about whether and how gene frequency will change. Define evolution and explain what it has to do with genetics.

3 Groups of two. One set of data and one graph for each group (make sure both names are on the paper). One set of questions for each individual. Questions are due tomorrow. At the bell: turn in your individual answers to the questions on the board.

4 Answer these questions before you leave today. The eight questions in your handout are due tomorrow. 1. What is gene frequency? 2. Explain what each component of the lab represented today. What do the beans represent? The dishes? The selection of the beans from the cup? 3. Define the terms genotype and phenotype. 4. How does an organism’s genotype affect its survival? 5. Explain the connection between genetics and evolution.
