DNA AND THE CULTURE OF CHRIST EMMANUEL

THE DNA MOLECULE

WHAT IS DNA AND WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE?  Deoxyribonucleic acid is a molecule that provides the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms  DNA provides the biological instructions that make each species of living things unique. Within each part of the the DNA molecule are instructions or prescriptions on how to be the species in which the molecule is found.  These instructions are passed from adult organisms to their offspring during reproduction  DNA is found in a special area of the cell called the nucleus

WHAT THIS MEANS TO CHRIST EMMANUEL  Christ Emmanuel, being a living organism, possesses a DNA.  There are both spiritual and organizational instructions that give Christ Emmanuel its way of behaving and doing things.  These instructions or genetic prescriptions separate or differentiate Christ Emmanuel from all of the churches.  The instructions on “how to be Christ Emmanuel” are what make Christ Emmanuel unique.

WHAT THE CHRIST EMMANUEL DNA INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDE: THE VISION  A born again, Spirit-filled gifted, mature and multi-cultural army of believers in Jesus Christ pursue and live out the destiny and purpose God has established for their lives.  An army of thousands under the guidance of the Holy Ghost and spirit directed leadership extend the Kingdom of God to their families, communities, and the urban centers of this world; to literally "turn this world up-side-down."  An army who have been radically changed through faith in Jesus Christ and who are living out the principles of the Kingdom of God in their everyday lives.

WHAT OUR DNA REQUIRES CHRIST EMMANUEL TO DO: MISSION EEquip, edify, and encourage believers to grow and to mature in their worship, fellowship, and communion with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; to be healed from their brokenness and discipled into wholeness as they live out their God-given purpose, impacting the world with the Kingdom Of God.

WHAT QUALITIES OR PRINCIPLES GUIDE OUR BEHAVIOR: ISEC INTEGRITY The state of being whole or undivided. Consistency of actions, values, methods, principles and outcomes We consistently function as a ministry grounded in the mission and the vision of the Church. We are undivided in our commitment to the vision and mission of the Church.

SERVICE TThe action of helping or dong work for someone with the goal of enhancing their life. Service is the act of contributing to the welfare of others.

EXCELLENCE  The talent or quality that surpasses ordinary standards.  To be superior in some aspect.  To exhibit that which deserves extreme merit  To be superior; to surpass; to transcend; to exceed; to eclipse  To never settle for average in anything

COOPERATION  The process of groups or organisms working or acting together for their communal/mutual benefit as opposed to working in competition or selfish benefit  The process of building community that results in the mutual benefit of its members

GOALS FOR 2014 1. TO CAUSE THE VISION AND MISSION OF THE MINISTRY TO BECOME MORE PROMINENT AND INFLUENTIAL IN THE LIFE OF THE MINISTRY. 2. TO BUILD A GLOBAL PRESENCE FOR THE MINISTRY 3. TO REVIVE COMMITMENT TO ISAIAH 58:10 4. TO INCREASE STEWARDSHIP FROM THE CONGREGATION

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN PRACTICALLY?  EACH MINISTRY SHOULD, IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY, HAVE A DISCUSSION ON HOW IT IS LIVING OUT THE VISION AND THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH  EACH MINISTRY SHOULD INCLUDE IN THAT DISCUSSION HOW THEY CAN BETTER LIVE OUT THE VISION AND MISSION OF THE CHURCH  EACH MINISTRY SHOULD ALSO DISCUSS HOW IT IS LIVING OUT THE ISEC PRINCIPLES AND HOW IT CAN BETTER DO THIS  EACH MINISTRY SHOULD SET GOALS IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY THAT THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH FOR THE YEAR IN LINE WITH THE FOUR GOALS FOR THE CHURCH

NEXT STEPS  AT THE END OF JANUARY EACH MINISTRY WILL REPORT TO THE PERSON/ELDER WHO SERVES AS THEIR LEADER, THE GOALS AND THE RESPONSES TO THE VISION AND MISSION ASSIGNMENTS  THE MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE CABINET WILL SHARE THE RESULTS OF THESE DISCUSSIONS AT THE FEBRUARY CABINET MEETING
