Loan Library The purpose of the Loan Library is to assist in making a more informed decision as to whether the product and its features will be useful to the student.

Program The program is designed to provide free short-term (4 weeks) loans of assistive technology and/or universal design for learning products to be used for the following purposes:

Purpose for Lending Library Consideration/Assessment as part of the IEP development process or IEP recommendations Classroom implementation on a time limited basis Serve as temporary loaner during device repair or while waiting for funding Provide an accommodation for a student on a short-term basis Professional development (teacher training, skill development, etc.)

How do I borrow items from the library? Each time you want to borrow an item(s) from the library, you must complete the Loan Request form and Feed Back Form (Forms are available for download).Forms are available for download *Send forms to Sandy Salcido-Martinez at the Special Education Department sandysa@susd12.org or call her at 545-2095.

What items are in the loan library? The loan library contains a wide variety of assistive technology and universal design for learning products and equipment typically utilized in educational settings. The items are organized into the 10 categories:

Assistive Technology Categories 1. Activities of Daily Living 2. Communication/AAC 3. Computers Access (hardware/software– alternative keyboards, mice, etc) 4. Hearing 5. Learning Tools

Categories continued 6. Play and Recreation (toys) 7. Positioning /Mobility 8. Switches/Environmental adaptations including EADLS (electronic aids to daily living) 9. Vision 10. Teacher Resource Materials (reference books, manuals, videos, CDs, etc.)
