6 Collaborative/Training: Line Worker Training: TAB 4 1. Forsyth Tech- 9 week program The Electrical Lineman Program is designed to train persons to become entry level electrical line workers for private & public utility companies. Students will also have the opportunity to earn a Career Readiness Certificate. This program is approved for national certification by the National Center for Construction Education and Research ( NCCER) and for Pre Apprenticeship credit by the NC DOC. Graduates will also earn flagger, OSHA 10 and first aid/CPR certifications. 2. Nash Community College- 16 week program The Academy includes 400 hours of combined classroom and construction training. Upon completion, you receive a 3rd Class Line Construction Technology Certificate. This qualifies you to begin work as an apprentice power line technician. NCC also has stackable credentials including an advanced certificate, a diploma, and an associate degree in Electric Line Construction. 3. Caldwell Community College- 16 week The Electrical Lineman Institute prepares students for a career as an apprentice for a Journeyman Lineman. It combines classroom courses with laboratory hours which offer practical, hands-on training. Caldwell also offers a 3 week boot camp and a 1-week CAST prep test for those wanting to work for Duke Energy.
