7. Planning Area 1: People Augustine School will seek to hire, develop, and retain the finest faculty, staff, and administration in our region, and will seek ways whereby Augustine School can be a joyous and meaningful place to fulfill one’s vocation.

8. Planning Area 2: Math and Science Some of the finest scientists and mathematicians in the history of Western culture have been orthodox Christians. Augustine School aspires to continue and extend this tradition through its math and science education. To that end, Augustine School will offer the finest math and science education in our region.

Essential to the successful realization of the mission of Augustine School is a successful effort in the area of admissions and marketing. Augustine School will design and execute a successful marketing and admissions campaign.

Planning Area 4: Communication, Community Involvement, and Organizational Improvement Augustine School is a community with many constituents—students, families, faculty, staff, administration, and board. A great vision and curriculum alone does not necessarily lead to the realization of Augustine School’s unique mission. Augustine School will improve in the areas of communication, community involvement, and in overall institutional organization.

11. Planning Area 5: Campus Renovation and Beautification It is important that Augustine School do all it can to model the good, the true, and the beautiful in our facility and our grounds. Augustine School will be looking at (1) immediate/short-term improvements, (3) intermediate/mid-term improvements, and (3) longer-term improvements.

12. Planning Area 6: Financial Strength Every institution must operate with sound financial principles if it is going to prosper and fulfill its mission. Augustine School will operate in such a way as to fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities, and will do all it can to plan well for the short-term and long-term future. As a tuition-driven institution, this strategic planning area is intricately related to, and dependent upon, the other strategic planning areas in this plan.

15. What is “The Pascal Initiative for Science and Math Education”? The Pascal Initiative for Science and Math Education is Augustine School’s initiative to become the school which offers the finest math and science education in our region.

16. Why “Pascal”? “Pascal” is from Blaise Pascal, a 17 th century French Christian theologian, philosopher—and mathematician and scientist. He was also a Christian thinker who loved Augustine and was committed to central Christian insights going back to Augustine.
