3  Swimming is a Team Sport  Preparation is Key  Excellence is Learned  Intensity Creates Champions  Communication is Essential TEAM PHILOSOPHY

4  We will NOT FOCUS on winning.  We will Focus on the training like champions  Winning will be the by- product of doing things the right way.  Winning breeds fun. Fun creates winners. WINNING IS FUN

5 All swimmers will develop a passion for the sport, support their teammates and create life-long friends. TEAM GOAL #1

6 Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls will compete for the CBL Champions hips every year. TEAM GOAL #2

7 Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys will compete for 10 th place or higher at CIF-SS Div. 1 Championships TEAM GOAL #3

8 By 2015, we want to compete for the FORD Team Academic Awards Top 5 Finishers TEAM GOAL #4

12 Hosted 3 American Records!  Jason Lezak’s 48.17 in the 100m Free  Klete Keller’s 3:44.19 in the 400m Free  Larsen Jensen’s 14:56.71 in the 1500m Free  And Hosted 5 World Records!  Amanda Beard, 200m Breast, 2:22.44  Aaron Peirsol, 200m Back, 1:54.74  Brenden Hansen, 200m Breast, 2:09.04  Ian Crocker, 100m Fly, 50.76  AND…………………… OUR HOME POOL IS HISTORIC!

13 MICHAEL PHELPS GETS WORLD RECORD IN THE 400M IM AT 4:08.41!

14  Team Size: LARGE  We are looking to carry about 100 swimmers!  Benefits:  Large families are more fun!  More Talent  Absorb setbacks  Competitive  Levels of Competition: Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, JV Girls, JV Boys  We will get as many people the chance to swim a varsity meet as possible.  We will also give opportunities to earn a letter. But won’t be easy! YHS TEAM STRUCTURE

15  Kevin Lewis  Swim, Dive, Water Polo, and Soccer at Sonora HS  Club Diver, and Soccer  CIF Diver, Relay Swimmer, all Four years (Division 2)  CIF Semi Finals Water Polo  CIF Quarters in Soccer COACHES

16  Kevin Lewis  Teaching for 16 years  Coached Swimming at various levels for 10 years, including HS  Coached Soccer at various levels for 22 years including YHS COACHES

17  Aric Kent  Varsity Swimmer at Canyon 4 years  Swam 10 workouts a week!  Played Polo  Master Swimmer  YST Club Coach  Working on his credential COACHES

18  Considering a third coach with the numbers we have.  Needs to bring something different and unique to the table. COACHES

19  Backbone of any organization  Timers- recruiting students who can be specially trained  Coordinators- Banquet, Carpools, Score Table, 2 Deck Safety Officers, Meet Set-up, Meet Take-Down, Carb Parties, Fundraising!  Incentives for helping out  If they call you, please respond. PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS

20  Steering Committee  All Parents and Swimmers are welcome.  Mixer, Networking  Contribute Ideas, Identify Problems, Opportunities, propose solutions  Gives voice to parents and students  Leadership Committee  6 or so Parents  Captains and Block Y  Purpose: To assist and advise coaches in the administration of the team, gets the word out.  The real muscle on the team. PARENT ORGANIZATIONS
