Gate Rehab Work Includes: Gate operator removal, transportation to rehab facility, disassembly, examination and diagnosis for rehabilitation or replacement Rehabilitate operator if feasible, including new position & proximity switches, piston cup and tube end seals, piston rod and tie rod replacement, and cleaning/recoating exterior cylinder surfaces Replace operator if rehabilitation is not cost-effective Preventive maintenance and lubrication of the gates Power cleaning/preparation and coating of interior support steel. Accumulator work Rehabilitate and/or replace Construct concrete support curbs to raise accumulators Replace all exposed hydraulic piping, hoses, fittings and valves Replace all exposed electrical conduit, junction boxes and conductors Perform operational readiness and functional acceptance testing

Coordinate site access and service interruptions with Resident Engineer and Veolia Special access requirements at NS09 Junction Chamber with Aloft Hotel & Condos Veolia contractor safety training required Lockout / tagout required at removed gate operators Flow control plan requires, in part, one gate to remain in service throughout duration of the work NS12 work is restricted to dry-weather season (October to May) 10-year defects and workmanship warranty required on new and rehabilitated gate operators Contractor to coordinate staging requirements 15% S/W/MBE and One Apprenticeship is required Gate Rehab Constraints

Bid Structure Solicits lump sums and unit prices for both rehabilitation and replacement Cumulative sum used as a basis for lowest responsive bid Contract amount based on sum of replacement items If Owner chooses rehabilitation over replacement, a credit will be made equal to the difference between the amounts bid for replacement and rehabilitation
