GPA and Class Rank Based on 6 semesters of academic work; final rank includes 7 th semester. Rank is calculated twice during senior year. Many applications contain a counselor’s report.

Essay Remember- essays can reveal personality, creativity and values not revealed anywhere else in the process. Be creative but address and answer the question asked in the application. Write, rewrite, and rewrite again. Ask your English teacher to critique.

Special Skills and Talents Are you a talented trombone player? Maybe the college marching band is looking for you… Are you a state champion in track? Maybe the college needs you to boost their program… If you have a special talent, make sure you contact the college of your choice to let them know.

Recommendations Complete a senior profile sheet to help others get to know you better. Ask two teachers that know you well. Can they write about who you are as a STUDENT and a PERSON? Ask early.

College Visits & Interviews If you are comfortable speaking in this setting, try to set up an interview during a college visit. Ask thoughtful questions. Bring an unofficial copy of transcript. Dress appropriately. Some college may recommend/require.
