Converting Temperature F to C C = 1.8 / (F – 32) F = 1.8 C + 32 100 C1.8 x 100 + 32 = 212 F 101 F1.8 / (101 – 32) 1.8 / (69) = 38.3 F

Contraindications No oral temp. for : Mentally confused Uncooperative / Combative Unconscious Restless Receiving heat/cold tx about the neck/face Mouth breathing Difficulty breathing Receiving oxygen by mask On seizure precautions Using a nasogastric tube (NG tube) Under 6 yrs. old Recovering from surgery/injury to the nose/mouth

Contraindications No rectal for: Diarrhea Constipation / Fecal impaction Had a colostomy Combative Rectal bleeding Hemorrhoids Recently had prostrate surgery Recent heart attack Severe heart disease
