Researcher training and research abroad Applications are invited in October The aim of this form of funding is to raise the standard of research and to promote the international mobility of researchers, particularly at the postdoctoral stage. Funding is also awarded to support researchers' work abroad and to researchers for researcher training with the aim to gain a doctorate at a foreign university usually for a minimum of one semester and a maximum of one academic year. Funding is awarded as a monthly grant for research. The grant paid may include the researcher's term and study fees and other research costs as well as travel costs. If the period abroad lasts at least six months, the travel costs of accompanying family members may also be remunerated. Settling-in costs will not be covered.
