Manual High School JROTC Newsletter We’re back! The thunder is louder than ever! In the month of November, the T-Bolts and the Angels came together to honor all Veterans who fought for our country and those that are currently fighting for us. The T-Bolts and Angels working together to make sure everyone hears their AWESOME cadence. It was a good way to start off on a Sunday morning. BOOM! LIKE THUNDER, WE’RE MANUAL HIGH NO NEED TO WONDER! Taste of JROTC After attending the Veteran’s Day Parade there was a surprise waiting for us at Manual. Every cadet brought a dish to share with the whole 5 th battalion; many cadets brought their friends and family to the event. There was a lot of food for everyone to take home. It’s always good to interact with family and friends! “Best of the Best” The whole manual community comes together to motivate and push each other in achieving goals for our 8 th annual “Best of the Best” marksmanship. This competition was between teachers, the students taught the teachers some focusing techniques which improved their overall scores. Almost Every teacher participated in our “Best of the Best” marksmanship, and it was awesome to have the teachers support!

Riffle team member makes history… We are proud to announce that our one and only Delilah Martinez got to participate in the state competition which took place at Fountain Fort Carson High School in Fountain, Colorado, on November 21, 2015. Delilah has been our top Marksman for four years now, she is finally a Senior and will graduate with the Class of 2016. Delilah’s highest score has been 262, she decided to join the riffle team because it’s something that you don’t have to rush, you can take your time. She feels that targeting makes you feel relaxed and allows you to focus on just one thing. “I’m passionate about marksmanship because it’s like a life lesson, you don’t want to hit a bulls eye and get overly excited and end up missing your next target.” – Delilah Martinez Delilah is a very joyful person who will put others before herself, she is willing to help anyone just to take their pain away. She is planning to go to Metropolitan State University or Red Rocks to study fire science or massage therapy. Studying fire science or massage therapy makes her feel better as a person because she is keeping up with her physical health and she’s helping others.

Yes you heard that right! Here is the Color Guard posing with the Mayor of Denver. You may be wondering, what is the JLAB? JLAB is the JROTC leadership and academic goal bowl where cadets from across the country can participate to compete against other units from around the world. These cadets benefit from this competition by improving their SAT/ACT scores, increasing their interest in college admissions as well as leadership skills, and other hands-on activities. The amount of practice is infinite until the actual test days. On the test day these cadets get to put all of their knowledge and efforts together in order to qualify to compete on a national level. The one and only JROTC Color Guard performed for Hillary Clinton!
