In addition, site-based information can serve to validate remote sensing products. However, acquiring, preparing, and analyzing the time-series of remote sensing products along with site-based data can be computationally challenging. NASA’s ORNL DAAC and NCDC collaborated to develop a pilot tool that allows ready access of land surface data products from field observations, model output, and remote sensing records for field stations in North America. The tool is designed to access the diverse data products from distributed sources, using standard-based data exchange protocols such as OPeNDAP (DAP) and W3C Web Service (SOAP). Of these, LST and NDVI data are from both site-based and satellite-based products, while LAI and EVI are from satellite-based products Point-based site selection, covering more than 120 field locations from various research/operation networks Obtain subsets (location, time span) from multiple data source Time series visualization/comparison Download specified time series in ASCII format  Future Development Efforts: Support other biogeochemical properties: Reflectance, Albedo, Radiation, NPP, etc. Areal-based data visualization/comparison, aggregation / analysis tools, in collaboration with users/science team Expand to other sensors (e.g., MISR) and other monitoring networks Capability Example: Land Surface Temperature Quantitatively compare land surface temperature (LST) data from MODIS (Terra and Aqua), GOES (East and West), Climate Reference Network (CRN), AmeriFlux sites, and Rapid Update Cycle (NCEP) Model Forecast for 2006, centered on the following CRN stations: –Bondville –Ft.
