© ExplorNet’s Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning 2 Crimper Network cables are stripped using wire strippers and then the wires are reordered and cut to the proper length to be inserted into a connector. The crimper is used to bind the connector to the cable. In the crimping process, metal “fingers” in the connector are punched down into the individual wires. Video on Using Crimpers
