2 There has ever been so much of talking about universalization of education at least at the primary level. Great thoughts have been quoted; great schemes have been formulated; a number of commissions have been commissioned to make their recommendations regarding education; a lot of experimentation has continued to be conducted particularly in the field of education during these sixty years of the country’s independence, but the results achieved are far from satisfactory.

6 A right to education has been recognized by some governments. At the global level, Article 13 of the United Nations' 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights recognizes the right of everyone to an education. Although education is compulsory in most places up to a certain age, attendance at school often isn't, and a minority of parents choose home-schooling, e-learning or similar for their children. 8 Education For All is a global movement led by UNESCO(United Nation educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), aiming to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015.UNESCO UNESCO has been mandated to lead the movement and coordinate the international efforts to reach Education for All. Governments, development agencies, civil society, non-government organizations and the media are but some of the partners working toward reaching these goals. The EFA goals also contribute to the global pursuit of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially MDG 2 on universal primary education and MDG 3 on gender equality in education, by 2015.Millennium Development Goals

20 Superstitions are baseless, useless and may affect your life negatively. Illiterate and uneducated people often tend to hold certain superstitious beliefs. Education and awareness are the best ways to combat superstitions and replace such beliefs with reason and logic.

21 We live in an ever changing world. New technologies keep coming up and if you don’t want to be left behind, you must keep up with the world which is moving really fast. Without education it will be really difficult for you to adapt to all these changes. An educated person is much more aware of the latest technologies and all the changes that are taking place in the world. For example, an uneducated person may not know about the benefits of the internet whereas an educated person uses this gift of technology regularly for work as well as for entertainment.

23 Everybody likes a wise and knowledgeable person! Educated people are considered highly reputable in the society. The more educated you are, the more respect you will get from those around you.

24 Education is what you need if you want an answer to your ‘whats’ and ‘hows’ and ‘wheres’. It helps you understand the world you live in. You get to know more about your surroundings as well as the whole world through subjects like history, geography, science etc.

25 What is your dream, your aim in life? Do you want to become rich? Do you want to be popular? Do you want to be an extremely successful person who is respected by people? Well, the key to all this is education. Of course there are exceptions, like sportsmen who don’t really owe their success to their education. However in most cases, your degree is what helps you realize all your dreams.

27 If we want to see the world as a just and fair place where everyone is given equal opportunities, education is what we require. Education is a must if we want to do away with the existing differences between different social classes and genders. It opens a whole world of opportunities for the poor so that they may have an equal shot at well paying jobs. Education also plays a major role in women empowerment.

29 Education majorly affects our understanding of the difference between right and wrong. An educated person is well aware of the consequences of wrong/illegal actions and he is less likely to get influenced and do something which is not legally/morally right. Also, a number of uneducated people who live a poverty stricken life owning to lack of opportunities often turn to illegal ways such as theft and robbery to solve their problems. If you are educated, you are well aware of your rights, the law and your responsibilities towards the society. Hence, education is an important factor which contributes in social harmony and peace.

31 The girl child is considered necessarily as a handmaid to the mother in the household chores and in looking after the younger siblings. In some parts of the country, the girl is not sent to a co-educational school due to social inhibitions. On this accounts girls even if they join in the earlier age group drop out as soon as they grow a little older. Under the World Bank ‘Education for All’ project even educational kits have been distributed free of costs; education, otherwise, is of course free but the results still are not that encouraging. Even free textbooks and stationery, free dresses to girls, midday meals and such other allurements have been given in order to successfully implement this education for all programmes.

33 One is no availability of women teachers in the far-flung interior areas of the country. Women teachers would attract girls more to schools and also give a sense of security and confidence to the parents. The second major drawback is the lack of commitment on the part of teachers. The male teachers try their level best to get themselves attached or posted to a school in the closest vicinity of their home villages.

34 Education system in India is not very satisfactory. In India, literacy rate has improved but is still very low. To encourage families and children to enroll for schools many supplements are being provided by the government to the underprivileged section of the society so that every child of India is educated. On seeing all this it inspired me to choose this topic EDUCATION FOR ALL. Education not only in India but in the world has become a major problem. Education is now a global issue in the world which needs to be overcome as soon as possible.
