2. Basic information Brazil is the largest country in South America. They are seventh economy in the world. My first associations with Brazil are my beloved football, coffee which I don’t like and Catholicism. In the world Brazil is also famous for Rio Carnival which is the biggest carnival in the world. This carnival consist in parade samba schools from Rio. The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20 th FIFA World Cup, an international men's football tournament, that is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. It will be the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the previous being in 1950. 32 teams take part in World Cup. They are divided into the eights groups.

3. Football in Brazil For Brazilians football is the second religion and Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro is their temple. Brazil has the most successful national football team in the history of the FIFA World Cup, with five championships: 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Currently head coach is Luiz Felipe Scolari who won the World Cup title with brazil national team and he will try again. Thiago Silva is captain of the Brazil national team. Icons of brazilian football are for example Pele and Ronaldo (they are inactive).Among active players I think that Neymar is the most popular brazilian footballer.

4. Time for Brazuca T he 2014 Brazil World Cup ball was created by Adidas. The name was chosen by a fan in Brazil. This name drew almost a milion votes. The Brazuca’s colours and ribbon design of the ball panels symbolise tradition of wish bracelets worn in the country. This is the most tested ball in history, over two years. The ball has been tested by the best players, professional and national teams sponsored by Adidas.

5. Official Mascot It name is Fuleco and it represent endangered species armadillo living in Brazil. Name was selected after a public online voting and it is composed of two words: Fu teba l and Eco logia (brazilian spelling). Fuleco is very social mascot, has own profiles on Facebook and Twitter.

6. Host cities This World Cup is set in 12th brazilian cities. Brazilia will play Croatia in the opening match in Sao Paulo. Match for third place will be in Brasilia (capital city) and final match will be in Rio de Janeiro. In my opinion this three cities are most famous in Brazil and have the most important matches during this tournament.

7. Analysis Spain will head to Brazil as defending champions and it’s real possible that they come back still as winners. There is no doubt that Brazil will be the favourites. Firstly they are hosts and have great team with stars, talents and one of the best coaches. Secondly and probably more important are brazilian fans whose lead their players to victory.

8. We need to remember that this tournament is in South America and amazing teams (Argentina, Urugway) from this continent are favourites to victory definietly before european teams which never win World Cup in this part of world. In Europe always are team which can win even on other continent because in contemporary footbal we have freedom of movement of players so styles of play are adopted and use in national teams.

9. Violence Brazil has a big problem with violence during matches. We can often watching the images of the disturbing scenes from brazilian stadiums. To Brazil will arrive thousands of fans, journalists, celebrities and representatives of governments from whole world who want to feel safely and I suppose that thousands security officers can’t ensure safety. Brazilian authorities should take a strong measures to protect people during their World Cup.
