Lorenzo de Medici He was from a wealthy, powerful family who ruled the city of Florence, Italy. The Medici’s gave huge sums of money to artists, intellectuals, and musicians. Lorenzo himself was a well educated poet.

Features of Renaissance Art
HUMANISM – Movement that emphasized individual accomplishments PERSPECTIVE and SHADING – Techniques used to represent three-dimensional objects on a flat surface. SECULAR – A worldly, rather than a spiritual, focus. CLASSICAL INFLUENCE – Repeating images from the Greeks and the Romans.
