Shipping containers range from large reusable steel boxes used for intermodal shipments to the ubiquitous corrugated boxes. In the context of international shipping trade, a container is designed to be moved from one mode of transport to another without unloading and reloading. Its size is uaually more than one cunbic meter.

7 Container loading A Full Container Load (FCL) is an ISO standard container that is loaded and unloaded under the risk and account of one shipper and only one consignee, in practice it means that the whole container is intended for one consignee.

8 LCL Less than Container Load Cargo(LCL) can be defined as "a consignment of cargo which is inefficient to fill a shipping container. It is grouped with other consignments for the same destination in a container at a container freight station".
