2 Phase 2: Game Design Outcomes (Slide 1) I can research and develop a specification for my game, including: – The target audience; – The genre; – The theme; – The game play; – A mood board; – A storyboard. I can identify specific and measurable success criteria related to the project brief. I can give effective feedback to others.

4 The Client Brief A local games company want you to develop a computer game that would be suitable for boys or girls aged 11-16. The game can be any genre. The game should have some form of scoring and have levels.

5 Research Using the internet you need to research your chosen game genre. Find 3 images of games that are similar to the one that you would like to create. Create a slide that tells me: – Who your target audience is. – What theme you have chosen. – What the game play will be like. – Your game genre.

7 Developing a Concept Create your initial proposal for your game using the template. Remember to include: – Your target audience – The theme – What the game play will be like – The genre – The success criteria

10 Mood Boards Find 3 examples of a mood board and paste them into a document. Annotate the images with the following information: – What are the key features? – What items do they contain? – How do you think the colour scheme influences the overall feel of the mood board?

11 Create Your Mood Board Create your mood board for your game. Think about: – Texture – Characters – Target audience – Game play – Levels – Points Success looks like: – A mood board which has at least 10 images. – Gives an understanding of your target audience. – Makes the theme overt.
