KS1 Sats – 6 th May onwards KS2 Sats – 13 th May onwards This week we have begun our topic – ‘Our world’. We will be exploring extreme weather; including tornadoes, tsunami and hurricanes. We will be looking at other natural phenomenon including volcanic eruptions too. Alongside this we will be learning about the geography of the world: the continents and oceans, climate and population density. We have also been story writing this week- years 3-5 spent Friday writing about a day when their life completely changed. After the bank holiday the children got straight back to work practising their times tables and mental maths skills. We all revised the names and features of 3-D shapes and continued our study of the life cycle of plants. Year six have been revising hard for their National Curriculum Tests next week and have revisited co-ordinates and fractions. This week we have started looking at recounts. We found out that they are sequenced using time connectives. In RE we have designed prayer mats using symmetrical patterns. The Year 2s have completed some of their SATs tests. They all tried really hard – well done.

Parent View http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/ In order to help OFSTED measure how successful schools are, they are looking for more parents to contribute to parent view. This anonymous survey is completed online and allows Ofsted to have an indication of parental feeling. Mrs Figes and the staff would be grateful if you could spare the time to complete this survey so that we can serve you better. If you would like more information, it is available in the office.
