13. How you can help Link to real life e.g. shopping list, checking a bill, reading a timetable, baking, shopping deals. Show them that you also use the skills they're learning – see parent booklets Be positive about maths! Praise your child for effort rather than talent - this shows them that by working hard they can always improve Developing a positive attitude with maths is the key to success in the long term.
