Proposed FY17 Upgrades & Fixes Technology refresh: at 5+ years Some rooms can benefit from laser projectors Laser projectors have dropped in price Lower power consumption Less heat generation Longer service life; hope to extend life to 7 years BUT - Need to confirm long-term performance Wireless microphones are a challenge (next slide)

The FCC Threw Us a Curve Wireless frequency used in GA rooms is being auctioned in April. (Coming to a cell phone near you!) Frequency illegal to use in near future (date TBA) Shure just stopped building mic transmitters we buy annually for check-out use Buying more transmitters is pointless expense Frequency change is needed; cost reduction can result Goal: replace check-out with in-room docking mics Eliminate check-out mics, save thousands annually
