3. Landscape Hlohovec is situated in the south-west of Slovakia. It is situated on the river Váh surrounded by the hills of the Považský Inovec and Nitrianska pahorkatina. It is really beautiful.

4. Bridge over the river Váh It’s important because it connects Hlohovec with other towns and villages.

5. Historical Landmarks Originally a gothic building Oldest theatre building in Slovakia It is said Beethoven played there.

6. St. Michal’s square It’s in the centre of Hlohovec. At Christmas it is beautifully decorated.

7. Hlohovec castle Our town is rich in history. Hlohovec castle was a medieval fortress and then it was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s surrounded by an English park with French terraces and rare plants.

8. Free time in Hlohovec Hlohovec has got a lot of places for your free time. Lots of parks Cycling path Festivals organized every year Theatre and cinema Pubs and disco clubs Restaurants Observatory

10. A n n u a l f e s t i v a l It is held in September to celebrate harvest. We enjoy stalls with food, for example „Štrúdla“ and „Burčiak“.

12. 9 0 0 t h a n n i v e r s a r y For the first time Hlohovec was mentioned in the Zobor Document from 1113. Therefore it celebrated 900 th anniversary last year.
