How activity affects body systems (physical health) Cardiovascular System- exercise strengthens the heart muscle (pumps blood more efficiently) Cardiovascular System- Respiratory System- respiratory system works more efficiently with exercise; more air, muscles don’t tire as quickly Respiratory System- Nervous System- exercise allows you to respond more quickly to stimuli, improved reaction time Nervous System-

Benefits to Mental/Emotional Health Helps reduce stress Manage anger and frustration in a healthy way Improve mood/ decrease risk of depression Help look and feel better/ increase confidence Give you a “can-do” attitude when faced with challenges
