Mark 3:1-6 ‘Good Anger’ Sermon

Galatians 5:19-20 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions Proverbs 14:29 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. Proverbs 27:3 Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but provocation by a fool is heavier than both. Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Genesis 49:7 Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel! I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel. Proverbs 27:4 Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy? Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. Job 5:2 Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple. Proverbs 19:19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty; if you rescue him, you will have to do it again. Proverbs 25:28 Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control. Proverbs 22:24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, Proverbs 16:32 Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city. Titus 1:7 Since an overseer is entrusted with God’s work, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Mark 3:1-2 Another time he went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.

Mark 3:3-5 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.” Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayers condemn him. May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership. May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor. May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children. May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation. May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out. May their sins always remain before the LORD, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. Speak In Love Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. Forgive
