A day in the life of a WMS student… students arrive at 7:20 first bell rings at 7:40 most students come by bus – some are dropped off by parents (car)

A day in a life of a WMS Student… classes begin at 7:40 a.m. about 25 students in each class 6 classes a day last period of the day is Study Hall – time to complete your homework and work on study skills students do not stay in the same room all day—also can have different students in each class

6 th Grade Schedule First Hour7:40- 8:31 Second Hour8:36- 9:27 Third Hour9:32- 10:28 Fourth Hour 10:28- 11:19 Fifth Hour11:24- 12:15 Lunch12:15-12:55 Sixth Hour12:58- 1:49 Study Hall1:55- 2:37 Go home!2:40 - 5 minutes between classes - 50 minutes for lunch - each class is 50 minutes

Subjects 8 th grade students MUST take: Language Arts (English) Math Science Gym (PE) Social Studies Optional classes: art, music (band/orchestra/choir), theater, language (French/Spanish/German)

Lockers every student gets their own locker keep their extra books/coat/etc. students carry their books to class some carry a backpack all day to hold their books

Lunch whole grade eats together eat in a cafeteria/lunch room—not in the classroom! students buy lunch every day have 2 or 3 different options every day

Student ID Cards name and picture must have at ALL times use to: – check out library books – buy lunch

Clubs And Activities Art Club, Math Club, Student Council, School Store Athletics – basketball, football, soccer, tennis… clubs happen after school, not during

Other Things students don’t clean the school—school has janitors instead no cram school! – some kids have tutors, but most don’t most schools don’t have uniforms
